
Andrew S. Ellowitz, MD
Dr. Ellowitz has been a practicing orthopedic surgeon in Broward County since 1997. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons (ABOS) and has twice been re-certified. Dr. Ellowitz completed his medical school education at the University of Vermont College of Medicine in 1992 and went on to do an internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Minnesota where he graduated in 1997. He relocated to South Florida and has been in orthopedic private practice ever since.
Dr. Ellowitz maintains hospital staff privileges at multiple South Florida hospitals including two level 1 trauma centers where he takes emergency on-call services for pediatric fractures. He has been designated as an Expert Medical Advisor (EMA) in the field of Worker’s Compensation and is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University where he assists in training resident physicians at Broward Health Medical Center in Ft. Lauderdale.
Dr. Ellowitz has participated on multiple hospital committees over the years and has served as past Chief of surgery at plantation General Hospital. Dr. Ellowitz sees new and established patients in his private office weekly and performs surgery at multiple hospitals on a regular basis.
